When faced with the prospect of having to look for someone on the internet most people do not know where to
conduct the searches from. Naturally they turn to the search engines for help and want to know how to search for
people on Google. You might not be aware but there are also a number of people finder sites that you can use to
find someone for free, but for now we'll concentrate on how a Google search can be done.
One might assume that this search is just a matter of typing in the name on the search engine and searching.
This is not the case, as doing this would return a number of results which would not be the ones that you are
interested in. Let us assume that you were looking for Vincent West and you entered the name just as it is. When
you search you will get all the results for either Vincent or West, I am sure you can see that's a lot of pages
that you are not interested in.
How to search for people on Google? In this case I would advise to you to put the name in quotes when searching.
In our example you would type in "Vincent West". The results that you get in this case are those that have Vincent
West on them only and not any other combination or variation.
It is this point that I want to introduce the concept of wild cards to the method of how to search for
people on Google. A wild card can be an addition or subtraction. Yeah it has a little to do with mathematics
but not so complicated. You can add a wild card to a search so that name is searched together with additional data
that you have provided.
Or you can choose information that you do not want to show up in the search results. To add information you
could type in "Vincent West" + insurance, if the person you are looking for is involved in insurance. Alternatively
you could type in "Vincent West"- soccer, if there is a Vincent West that is a soccer player but not the one that
you are looking for.
