There are many resources that have been developed to enable people to search for others on the internet. There are a few places that have used these resources to collect data on the net and archive it into a searchable directory. One of the ways that people are using to search for people is to take advantage of the resources that search engines have.

It is without a doubt that if you are going to be looking up a person in Google you have more search resources available than from a simple search site. What might be a hindrance to your search are the privacy policies of the search engines. Google has a very strict policy regarding people's privacy and does not readily give out information unless it was free anyway.

To help the people that are interested in people searches Google has introduced the idea of Google profiles. Although I must say that the profiles benefit the owners more than the searchers. A profile is created by an individual to control the results that appear when they are Googled. So the next time you are looking up a person in Google you can expect to see people's profiles at the bottom of search results.

The profiles that are displayed are for people that have chosen to create them. If there are no profiles for your name search, then you can still use the search results to try and locate the person that you want. Googling is an effective way of looking up a person in Google, it does work.

Let me say at this point that if you fail to locate the person you are looking for using Google services you do have other options. There people search sites where you can find someone for free. Looking up a person in Google is just one way of gong about a search. You can research on the other methods and see which one you think will work for you.
